Determining child's shoe size, best tips for parents

As a parent, you know that children grow quickly, although you can't always tell. For example, pants from 3 months ago may already be too short. Of course, this also applies to children's feet! They also grow faster than you think, so your child may need new shoes every season.

But how do you determine the shoe size for your child If you want to buy shoes online? We have gathered the best tips for you as parents!

Measure a child's shoe size

Not every child enjoys having their shoe size measured. Some run hard from it and others do work with you.

Do you have a child who hates it? Then make it a party! Do it together so that he or she helps and has fun with it, too. The following tips can help you:

  1. Take a sheet of paper; put your son or daughter's feet flat on a sheet of paper and draw around them with a pen. This way you have an imprint of the feet, making it easier to measure. A fun tip; have your child color in his or her printout!
  1. Get started with a tape measure; if you have a printout, it's easy to measure it. Measure from the heel to the longest toe. Next, grab a size chart there to find the Size estimate.
  1. Use your thick thumb; it is important to keep room in the shoes for growth. The thick thumb rule, then, is one you should not forget. Make sure there is always room to put a thumb or finger in the back of the shoe. This way you can be sure that the shoes will not pinch.

Once you've applied all these tips, you'll have an approximate estimate of what your child's shoe size might be. Remember that each brand also varies in sizing. Fortunately, we allow you to return your order within 14 days, making it easy to try on the shoes with your child first!

Buy kids shoes in store

Sometimes it is also nicer to visit the store. The store employee can then help you determine the right Size!

What we should not forget is that feet swell throughout the day. Yes, even in children! So it is smarter to schoenen fit in the afternoon, rather than in the morning. That way you avoid tight shoes. Finally, of course, your child always knows best how the shoes fit; they feel the fit.

We hope these tips will help you determine the right shoe size for your child. Do you still have questions or would you rather come by for advice? We welcome you in our store in Rotterdam or just contact us.
